Get to know me
My passion for visual storytelling allows me to show people their worlds from new perspectives through engaging photos and videos. My hope is to help people better understand each other, the diversity around us, and our role in becoming informed and engaged global citizens. I am an award-winning photojournalist and visual storyteller specializing in headshots, commercial photography, event photography, editorial photography as well as video production. Based in Portales, I serve Clovis, Cannon Air Force base and Eastern New Mexico regions, but I am happy to travel. Let’s collaborate in telling your individual and/or business story through engaging photojournalistic images, portraits, marketing photography and multimedia.
With a refined, detailed understanding of storytelling and for how to bring out the best in a photographic subject, I am able to capture the essence of a person in portraits and environmental portraits.
My love of the outdoors is evident in my landscape, wildlife and night photography.
I have an extensive background in supporting higher education marketing and communications. Previously, I was the University Photographer in the Office of Marketing and Communications at University of the Pacific with campuses in Sacramento, San Francisco and Stockton, Calif., where I established the visual benchmark for print, web and marketing materials. I was also Multimedia Producer at Radford University in Radford, Virginia, where I created multimedia productions and photographs in support of recruitment, retention and marketing. Additional experience includes being the Photography Services Manager at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and a photojournalist for the Herald Times Reporter in Manitowoc, Wis.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in photography from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. My studies included study abroad at James Cook University in Australia, where I earned my scuba certification and studied underwater photography. This international experience sparked my love for travel to foreign lands.
My work has been recognized by the University Photographers’ Association of America, Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, Wisconsin Newspaper Association, and Wisconsin News Photographers Association.
